Symbolism
The school colors are cardinal red and navy blue.  The school's mascot is a wildcat.  The paw print is used around the campus to represent the school mascot named "Charlie Wildcat." He is a product of post WWII when Deming High School was a power house in football and basketball.  He is a little bit cocky because he is good.  The full image of "Charlie Wildcat" in BDU's is used by the cadets on T-shirts and sweatshirts and is well known around the campus.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 2 April 2010.
