Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
An embroidered device consisting of a red disc enclosed in a 1/16 inch (.16 cm) red edge displaying a stylized silhouette of a Scotsman couped wearing a bearskin hat and playing the bagpipes all in white with red details and gloves; enclosing that is a white designation band inscribed "EDINBORO UNIVERSITY" above and "FIGHTING SCOTS" below in black block letters.  The entire device is edged with a 1/8 inch red border. The overall diameter is 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm).

Symbolism
Red and white are the university colors.  The Scotsman is the university mascot and represents the cadets' noble nature, great strength, bravery, and high spirit.

The shoulder sleeve insignia was authorized 19 August 2008.  (TIOH Drawing Number A-10S-192)




Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in width overall consisting of a shield blazoned:  Or, a stylized silhouette of the upper half of a Scotsman holding bagpipes Gules, wearing a bearskin hat Sable.  Attached below the shield, a Gold scroll inscribed "EDINBORO" in Black letters.

Symbolism
Red and white are the university colors.  The Scotsman is the university mascot and represents the cadets' noble nature, great strength, bravery, and high spirit.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 19 August 2008.
