Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a white horizontal rectangle arched convexly at top and bottom and edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) gold border a green Greek style helmet and plume outlined in gold.  Attached above the rectangle a white scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) gold border and inscribed "GREENBRIER" in green letters.  Attached below the rectangle a white scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) gold border and inscribed EAST H.S." in green letters.  The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height by 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width.

Symbolism
Green, white, and gold are the school colors.  The Greek style helmet reflects the school's mascot, the "SPARTAN", and the cadets' commitment to country, state, and community.

Distinctive Unit Insignia


Description/Blazon
A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a recessed gold Greek style helmet affront on a silver base above a silver scroll attached below and inscribed "SPARTAN" in green letters. 

Symbolism
Green, white (silver) and gold are the school colors.  The Greek helmet alludes to the "SPARTAN" as the school's mascot and denotes the cadets' commitment to country, and school.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 21 November 1994.
