Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On an arched gold shield with a semicircular base, edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border, a black sword and pike in saltire surmounted by a black silhouette head of a Trojan soldier.  Attached above the shield, a gold scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border and inscribed "GSF" in black letters.  Attached below the shield, a gold scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border and inscribed "TROJANS" in black letters.  The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 3/8 inches (6.03 cm) in width.

Symbolism
Black and gold are the school colors.  The Trojan soldier suggests the school mascot and the JROTC Program.  The sword and the pike represent leadership and dedication to duty inspired by the JROTC Program.

The shoulder sleeve insignia was authorized 9 June 1988.  (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-74)




Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height, consisting of a shield blazoned:  Per saltire Or and Sable; in chief a Trojan soldier head of the first; in base two hands couped and grasping of the like; in dexter two mullets bend sinisterwise and in sinister two mullets bendwise transparent brown.  Attached below the shield is a black scroll inscribed "ABOVE THE REST" in gold letters.

Symbolism
Black and gold are the school colors.  The Trojan soldier suggests the school mascot and the JROTC Program.  The four stars allude to the Corps' philosophy of determination, discipline, dedication, and duty; the two hands reflect the community service the students provide.
