Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall, consisting of a red oval on which are three stars one and two above a silhouetted lamp enflamed, the lamp between a monogrammed "U" to dexter and "R" to sinister, all in silver color metal.  Attached below the oval a blue three segmented scroll inscribed "VERBUM VITAE" on the dexter segment, 'ET LUMEN" in the center segment and "SCIENTIAE" on the sinister segment in silver letter color metal letters.

Description

On a blue disc edged red, 3 inches (7.62 cm) in diameter overall within a red ring an eye above a cloud and a flaming lamp resting on a book all in red; outside the ring, the inscription UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND VA  in dark blue letters.  


Background

The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally authorized 14 December 1969, currently amended to update the manufacturing drawings on 19 May 2016.  (TIOH Drawing Number A-10S-1)
