On a vertical rectangle arched convexly at top and bottom and edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Black border blazoned as follows: divided quarterly of Sanguine and Argent, in the first quarter a patriot's head of the second detailed Sable couped at neck sinister, in the second quarter a drama mask conjoined with a harp of the first, in the third quarter a balanced sale of the third surmounting a laurel branches Maroon its stalks crossed at the base, in the fourth quarter a open book White detailed of he filed. Attached above, a White scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Black border inscribed "E.E.WADDELL" in Black letters. Attached below, a White scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Black border inscribed "HIGH SCHOOL" in Black letters. The overall dimensions are 3 5/8 inches (9.21 cm) in height and 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width.
The school colors are black, maroon and white. The school's mascot is a Raider, relative to the over mountain men who settled the Nation's Ford and Southern Piedmont areas. The conjoined harp and drama mask represents music and acting. The laurel branches allude to the academic wreath associated with the military, the balanced scale signifies justice and fairness, the open book represents knowledge through education.
