Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
A light blue vertical rectangle arched convexly at top and bottom with a 1/16 inch (.16 cm) blue border, a white stripe diagonally from upper left to lower right, surmounted by a blue comet with white contrail outlined blue.  Attached above the rectangle a white scroll with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) blue border inscribed "HALIFAX COUNTY" in blue letters 5/16 inch (.79 cm) in height.  Attached below the rectangle a white scroll with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) blue border inscribed BLUE COMETS" in blue letters 5/16 inch (.79 cm) in height.  Overall dimension are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 3 1/4 inches
(8.36 cm) in width.

Symbolism
The school colors are blue and white.  The school's emblem is a blue comet.

Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall blazoned as follows:  Celeste,  a sword palewise Or, point up, surmounting a book Argent.  Attached above the shield a Dark Blue scroll inscribed "LEARNING TO LEAD" in Gold letters.

Symbolism
Blue and white are the school colors.  The sword, point up, represents leadership.  The open book symbolizes education.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 05 September 1990.
