Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a purple vertical rectangle arched convexly at top and bottom and edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) white border a white panther head in profile, detailed purple.  Attached above, a purple scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) white border inscribed "WOODLAWN" in white letters.  Attached below, a purple scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) white border inscribed "PANTHERS" in white letters.  The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width.

Symbolism
Purple and white are the school colors.  The panther is the school's mascot and reflects the strength and spirit of the cadet's military training

Description/Blazon
A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield charged with a silver panther's head, garnished purple.  Attached above the shield a silver double-handled lamp, enflamed red.  Attached below the shield, a silver scroll doubled purple and inscribed "WOODLAWN" in purple letters.

Symbolism
Purple and white (silver) are the schools colors.  The panther is the school's mascot and reflects the strength and spirit of the cadets.  The lamp of knowledge taken from the school's coat of arms symbolizes the partnership of academic instruction provided by the school and the pursuit of knowledge by the cadets.
