A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield charged with a silver panther's head, garnished purple. Attached above the shield a silver double-handled lamp, enflamed red. Attached below the shield, a silver scroll doubled purple and inscribed "WOODLAWN" in purple letters.
Purple and white (silver) are the schools colors. The panther is the school's mascot and reflects the strength and spirit of the cadets. The lamp of knowledge taken from the school's coat of arms symbolizes the partnership of academic instruction provided by the school and the pursuit of knowledge by the cadets.
The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 16 October 1991.
