Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
 A rectangular shaped embroidered device arched convexly at top and bottom edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) white border and quartered white and green.  In the first quarter a green torch; second and third quarters are fields of green; and the fourth quarter a green fleur-de-lis.  Attached above, a green scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) white border, inscribed "LINCOLN" in white letters.  Attached below, a green scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) white border, inscribed "ALICES" in white letters.  The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height by 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width.

Symbolism
Green and white are the colors of Vincennes Lincoln High School.  White is emblematic of honor and green is symbolic of youth.  The torch represents both the state of Indiana and the Army JROTC program.  The fleur-de-lis embodies the schools location, Vincennes, which was founded as part of the French colony of Indiana in 1732.

Description/Blazon
A silver color metal and enamel insignia 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a green shield partitioned into two portions by a silver gray torch topped with a orange flame; in each portion two fleurs-de-lis, all in silver; attached below the shield a green arched scroll inscribed "VINCENNES LINCOLN" in silver letters.

Symbolism
The torch is symbolic of both the State of Indiana and the Army JROTC program.  The fleur-de-lis symbolizes Vincennes, Indiana's French heritage.  There are four fleurs-de-lis representing the city's existence in four centuries: 18th, 19th, 20th, & 21st.  Green and white are the school colors.  Green denotes youth and white is emblematic of honor.
