On a circular embroidered device 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in diameter overall, consisting of an inner blue disc edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) white border on which a bald eagle's head proper, surrounded by a green designation edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) white border inscribed "ROBERT C. BYRD" at top and "EAGLE BATTALION" at bottom all in white letters.
Kelly green and royal blue are the schools colors. Kelly green denotes youth and the young age of the cadets. Royal blue represents the loyalty between every member of the Eagle Battalion. The white borders and letters are emblematic of honor. The bald eagle is symbolic of the school's namesake, Robert C. Byrd, and is the school's mascot.
