Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
 On a rectangular device arched convexly at top and bottom edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Blue border blazoned as follows:   Per fess Gules and Azure, as a fess a stylized volcanic tuff cone of the second, detailed Argent; between in sinister chief a Marianist symbol of the third, fimbriated of the second and in base a fleur-de-lis of the third.  Attached above the rectangle a White scroll edged with a 1/8 inch
(.32 cm) Blue border inscribed "SAINT LOUIS" in Blue letters.  Attached below the rectangle a White scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Blue border inscribed "CRUSADERS" in Blue letters.  The overall dimension is 3 1/2 inches (8.89cm) in height and 2 3/8 inches (6.03 cm) in width

Symbolism
Red and blue are the school colors.  Red signifies the courage displayed by every cadet and blue is emblematic of their devotion to the JROTC program.  Diamond Head is the local landmark of Honolulu and is located just blocks from Saint Louis School.  The Marianist symbol signifies the Marianist Order of the school.  A fleur-de-lis is emblematic of the namesake of Saint Louis School; derived from the only monarch to be canonized, King Louis the IX of France.  The Saint Louis School mascot is the Crusader.

Description/Blazon
A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield shaped blazoned:  Per fess Gules and Azure, as a fess a stylized volcanic tuff cone of the second surmounted by the Blessed Mother Mary and Child in base metal and detailed of the second in between in dexter chief the Alpha Omega symbol and in sinister chief a Marianist symbol, all Silver.  Attached below the shield, a Silver scroll inscribed "MEMOR ET FIDELIS" in Blue letters.  Between the shield and scroll base metal, rayed.   

Symbolism
The shield alludes to Saint Louis Schools involvement during World War II as a designated hospital, the 147th General Hospital in the Pacific.  Diamond Head is a local landmark of Honolulu and is located just blocks from Saint Louis School.  The image of Blessed Mother Mary and Child and the Marianist symbol denote the Marianist Order of the school.  The Alpha Omega is symbolic of the schools teachings of God.  The inscription "MEMOR ET FIDELIS" translates to "Mindful and Faithful" and is the school's motto.
