On a blue rectangular shaped embroidered item convexly arched at top and bottom edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border, charged with a cross of Saint Andrew. Attached above the rectangle a red scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border inscribed "HIGHLANDER" in black letters. Attached below the rectangle a red scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border inscribed "BATTALION" in black letters. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 7/8 inches (7.30 cm) width.
Red and black are the school's colors. In traditional terms, red signifies courage, patriotism, and strength while black represents humility, might, and prudence; all of which represent character traits of future leaders. The center of the patch is the Highlander flag in proper colors and represents the school's mascot, the Highlander. The unit designation "HIGHLANDER BATTALION" appears on the patch upper and lower red scrolls in black letters which reflects to the school colors.
