Description/Blazon
On a shield shaped embroidered device edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Blue border, blazoned as follows:  Quarterly Argent and Sanguine, in the first quarter a mullet of the first fimbriated of the last, in the second quarter two comets emitting to dexter and sinister White, in between and transferring to the fourth quarter surmounting a mullet like in the first and the third quarter, a comet of the last alternating its aura Maroon and White terminating in fourth quarter.  Attached above, a White scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Blue border inscribed "WEST CARTER" in Maroon letters.  Attached below, a White scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Blue border inscribed "HIGH SCHOOL" in Maroon letters. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width.

Symbolism
The school colors are maroon, white and blue.  The comet is the school's mascot which symbolizes the hard hitting and lightning quick attitude that Cadets exhibit when faced with a challenge.  The stars represent space as the boundless environment of comets and the same boundless potential of the Cadets to excel in all endeavors.   

Background
