Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
A rectangular-shaped embroidered item, arched at top and bottom and becoming narrower at base silver gray; a stylized horse head cropped, facing the front ultramarine blue, mane scarlet.    Attached above the rectangle, a gold scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) red border inscribed "MALLARD CREEK" in blue letters.  Attached below the rectangle, a gold scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) red border inscribed "MAVERICKS" in blue letters.  The overall dimensions are 3 inches (7.62 cm) in height and 3 inches (7.62 cm) in width.

Symbolism
Vegas gold, deep red and brilliant blue purple are the school colors. Gold signifies honor, a virtue the cadets possess in everything they do. Red suggests boldness, a trait the cadets demonstrate in taking on new endeavors. Blue represents loyalty, an attribute the cadets reflect in their service to their school, community and country. Silver alludes to maturity, a trait the cadets convey in their manners and decisions. The maverick is the school's mascot and conveys the untamed spirit of the horses that once roamed the land. The students identify with their mascot in their pursuit of academic as well as athletic achievements.

Description/Blazon
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in diameter overall consisting of a blue disc displaying at the center a stylized horse's head cropped in base metal, its head facing the front; all encircled by a red designation band and inscribed "MALLARD CREEK HIGH SCHOOL" at top and "UNTAMED PRIDE" at bottom in base metal letters.
