Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a shield shaped embroidered item  edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Black border blazoned as follows:  Per pale Purpure and Azure (Teal), the head of an American Bald Eagle Proper facing affront, garnished Sable.  Attached above the shield is a black scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Black border inscribed "SEQUOYAH" in white letters. The overall dimensions are 3 inches (7.62 cm) in height and 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width. 

Symbolism
Purple, teal and black are the school colors. Teal represents the devotion, loyalty and courage of the cadets as leaders in the school and in the community.  Black is symbolic of the discretion, maturity and the wisdom to succeed.  Purple refers to justice, honor and the cadet's fierce winning spirit.  The school's mascot is the American Bald Eagle and symbolizes strength, bravery, alertness and liberty. The divided background alludes to military strength and fortitude while the shield shape denotes the defender of scholarly achievement.

Description/Blazon
A silver color metal and enamel elliptical shaped device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in diameter overall consisting of a Purple disc bearing a black chevron all within a Teal tripartite scroll with the inscription "EFFORT" "EQUALS" "EXCELLENCE" in silver letters.  Attached above the disc, a head of an American Bald Eagle facing left in silver extending from the top of the chevron to the outside area of the top scroll.
