Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a black vertical rectangle arched convexly at top and bottom edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) gold border; a gold and white tiger's head in profile coupe at the neck detailed black, teeth white, eyes, nose and tongue red, displaying a gold torch in sinister.  Attached above the rectangle, a black scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) gold border inscribed "FAYETTE" in gold letters.  Attached below the rectangle, a black scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) gold border inscribed "TIGERS" in gold letters.  The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width.

Symbolism
The school colors are black and gold. black signifies the dignity and determination demonstrated by the cadets in academic and athletic endeavors.  Gold is symbolic of the ambition of the cadets in their service to school, community and country. The Tiger is the school's mascot and represents the strength and agility of the students. The Torch symbolizes the wisdom gained through knowledge.

Description/Blazon
A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned:  Sable, divided per pale and per chevron; first a scroll unfurled to front, second a harp debruised by a drama mask in profile smiling, and in third at base a torch of knowledge surmounted by five annulets interlocked three and two all Or.  Attached above the shield, a Gold tiger pouncing in three dimensions.  Attached below the shield, a Black scroll inscribed "FAYETTE on the left and "COUNTY" on the right all in Gold letters.   

Symbolism

The elements of the shield together represent the well rounded education of every student: the scroll for academics, the harp conjoined to the drama mask for fine arts; and the torch and rings for athletics. The Tiger is the school's mascot and represents the strength and agility of the students.
