Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a silver gray shield with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) red border arced at top pierced by a triangular pinnacle and also arced at bottom, three red arrows, two in saltire over one in pale, surmounted by an open white book debruised by an annulet of eight equal portions, red alternating with silver gray.  Attached below the shield, an arced red scroll inscribed "OOLTEWAH" in silver gray letters 5/16 inch (.79 cm) high with a red border 1/8 inch (.32 cm) wide.  The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width.

Symbolism
Red and gray are the school colors.  The arrows represent the Indian heritage and also the ROTC's idealism of both moral and physical strength.  They also stand for the school's motto of "Straight, True, and Steadfast".  The open book symbolizes the quest for knowledge and training in the ROTC program.  The annulet denotes a circle of unity, its colors representing the school and its unifying need.

Description/Blazon
A silver colored metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height consisting of a black disc superimposed by three silver arrows with red arrowheads and feathers, two in saltire over one in pale, points up surmounted by an open white book debruised by an annulet of eight equal sections alternating red and silver gray; all between two silver swords with black hilts, points curving to the top joining the tips of the arrows in saltire.  Attached below the disc, a red scroll inscribed "OOLTEWAH" in silver letters.
