Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
A shield-shaped embroidered item edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Black border, blazoned as follows:  "Per pale Sanguine (Burgundy) and Argent (Silver Gray), an eagle's head erased counterchanged."  Attached above the shield, a Burgundy scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Black border, inscribed "EAGLES" in Black letters.  The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 11/16 inches (6.83 cm) in width.

Symbolism
Burgundy, black and silver are the school colors. Burgundy represents patriotism a great attribute the cadets have for their country.  Black alludes to might; a virtue the cadets seek to achieve in everything they do. Silver symbolizes perfection a trait the cadets strive to achieve every day. The eagle is the school's mascot and represents pride and courage in the face of adversity.  The students identify with their mascot in their pursuit of academic as well as athletic achievements.

Description/Blazon
A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned:  "Between a cross fillet Sanguine (Burgundy), in the first a torch enflamed bendwise sinister surmounted by a winged foot, in the second a mask of tragedy and comedy superimposed on the sinister base of a lyre, in the third a unfurled scroll surmounted by a quill pen bendwise sinister, in the fourth hands conjoined all Argent (Silver Gray)."  Attached below the shield, a Black tri-parted scroll inscribed "H", "MARJORY STONEMAN DOUGLAS" and "S" all in Silver letters.
