A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Per pale Celeste (Light Blue) and Argent (White), a ram's head in 3/4 position couped. Attached above the shield, a mullet (five point star) Argent (White), and a Blue scroll inscribed "SINGULARE AUDE" which translates to "Dare to be Extraordinary" in Silver letters. Attached below the shield, a Blue scroll inscribed "CLEVELAND H.S. in Silver letters.
Columbia Blue and White are the school colors. The ram is the school's mascot which signifies determination and boldness. Blue represents truth and sincerity. White signifies clarity, charity and faith. The star taken from the state flag of North Carolina represents the cadet's allegiance to their State, their Community and their School.
The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 4 October 2011.
