A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Sanguine, a chevron Argent between in dexter chief a lyre, in sinister chief a winged foot and in base an atom all of the last. Attached above the shield, a bust of George Washington with the head in a three-quarter view toward sinister in silver wearing a black patriot's hat facing toward sinister. Attached below the shield, a maroon scroll inscribed "PATRIOT PRIDE" in silver letters.
Burgundy and white are the school's colors. Traditionally the color burgundy represents patriotism and victory in battle; black is representative of constancy, determination, and dignity and white represents truth, discretion, and maturity. The patriot is the school's mascot and the school's name is George Washington who was one of the first patriots. George Washington was the dominant military and political leader of the new United States of America from 1775 to 1799. His leadership style established many forms and rituals of government that have been used ever since. Washington is universally regarded as the "Father of his Country" and a leader, the cadets strive to emulate. The lyre is symbolic of music, drama, and art. The winged foot pertains to athletics and sportsmanship. The atom alludes to the sciences and the nucleus of education.
