On a blue and white rectangular shaped item arched convexly at top and bottom edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) scarlet border divided quarterly, in the second and third quarter a red wolverine paw, surmounted by a white torch enflamed red bendwise from the fourth and first quarter. Attached above the rectangle, a white scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) scarlet border inscribed "WOLVERINE" in blue letters. Attached below the rectangle, a white scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) scarlet border inscribed "BATTALION" in blue letters. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width.
Red, white, and blue, our national colors, are also the colors of Lincoln West High School. The Wolverine is the school's mascot and has a reputation for ferocity, denoted by the red paws. The flaming torch is a symbol of knowledge and it is tilted to represent the passing of wisdom from older to younger cadets. The four quadrants represent the four grade levels of Lincoln West High School.
