Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a shield-shaped embroidered item arched at top and edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) blue border, blazoned as follows:  Or, between two mullets Azure, a panther affront Sable, armed and detailed Argent, eyed of the first."  Attached above the shield, a Yellow arched scroll inscribed "PANTHER BATTALION" in Blue letters. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 3 inches (7.62 cm) in width.

Symbolism
Blue and gold are the school colors.  Blue signifies loyalty, a virtue the cadets possess to each other and their country.  Gold represents honor an attribute the cadets reflect in their respectful manners and decisions.  Black suggests determination the cadets use to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to conquer any endeavor.  White conveys maturity, a virtue the cadets' show in everything they do.  The panther is the school's mascot conveying strength, speed and courage.  The two stars stand for the academic and athletic endeavors of the cadets.

Description/Blazon
A gold colored metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height overall, consisting of a shield blazoned:  "Argent, on a pale Azure, between two panthers combatant en arriere Sable, garnished Or, langued Gules, a sword downward, blade and hilt of the first, detailed, guard and pommel of the fourth."  Attached above the shield, a Blue scroll inscribed "LEADERSHIP" in Gold letters.  Attached below the shield, a bi-parted Blue scroll inscribed "HONOR" and "RESPECT" in Gold letters.
