Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a shieldshaped embroidered item edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Blue border, blazoned as follows:  Or, a stylized silhouette of a Trojan warrior's head couped at shoulder Azure.  Attached above the shield, a Yellow scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Blue border inscribed "TIMKEN" in Blue letters.  The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 11/16 inches (6.83 cm) in width.

Symbolism
Royal blue and yellow gold are the school colors.  Royal blue represents loyalty a noble attribute the cadets have for their country and for each other.  Yellow gold symbolizes honor a trait that the cadets strive to achieve and maintain every day.  The Trojan warrior is the school's mascot which represents strength, courage and wisdom in the face of adversity also the students indentify with their mascot in their pursuit of academic as well as athletic achievements.

Description/Blazon
A silver colored metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall, consisting of a shield blazoned:  "Per pall reversed Gules, Argent, Azure, Pro Football Hall of Fame building, McKinley Memorial Or, a stylized silhouette of a Trojan warrior's head couped at shoulder Argent (Silver Gray)."  Attached below the shield a Red scroll inscribed "WE CHOOSE TO SERVE" in Silver letters. 

Symbolism
Royal blue and yellow gold are the school colors.  Royal blue represents loyalty, a noble attribute the cadets have for their country and each other.  Yellow gold symbolizes honor, a trait that the cadets strive to achieve and maintain every day.  Red alludes to strength, a quality each cadet has but each cadet knows that together they are an unbeatable force.  White signifies perfection, a goal the cadets attempt to achieve in any of their endeavors.  Gray (silver) reflects maturity; for like the Trojans this mannerism also enables the students to be great warriors. The shield background colors of red, white and blue suggests the Ohio state flag and its same colors.  The Football Hall of Fame building and the McKinley Memorial both point out the two major landmarks of Canton, Ohio where the school is located as well.  The Trojan warrior is the school's mascot which represents strength, courage and wisdom in the face of adversity.  Also, the students identify with their mascot in their pursuit of academic as well as athletic achievements.  The unit's motto is "We Choose to Serve".
