Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a gold vertical wedge shaped embroidered item edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) dark blue border, a silver gray horned Viking's helmet, detailed black outlined  dark blue, between a dark blue "V" surmounted by two battle axes with silver gray handles black lashes and blades, blades facing outwardly.  Attached above a gold arched scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) dark blue border inscribed "TCHS VIKINGS" in dark blue letters.  The overall dimensions are 3 inches (7.62 cm) in height and 3 inches (7.62 cm) in width.

Symbolism
Vegas Gold and Midnight Blue are the school colors. Gold signifies nobility and vigor, blue represents thinking and truth. The school's mascot is the Viking, a symbol for daring and exploration. The handles of the axes forming a "V" further emphasizes this fact.

Description/Blazon
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height consisting of a dark blue background surmounted by twelve gold rays throughout superimposed by an image of a Viking with a shield and raised battle axe, in front of a Viking ship all gold. Attached below a dark blue rolled scroll inscribed "TAYLOR COUNTY VIKINGS" in gold letters.

Symbolism

The twelve rays reflect the fact that the county is named for Zachary Taylor the twelfth President of the United States, and a legendary general in the U.S. Army.
