A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height overall consisting of a cross couped Sanguine charged with three fleurs-de-lis on horizontal cross arms Argent, a Silver scroll below the cross containing the motto "PROCEDITE" in Maroon letters.
The cross is used as a symbol of mercy and the composition of the badge is in the colors of the Medical Department. The three fleurs-de-lis allude to the three battle honors awarded the organization for overseas activity during World War I. The motto translates to "Go Ahead."
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 6 May 1941. It was rescinded/cancelled on 30 June 1975.
