A Silver metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Brown and Tenne, a saltire Argent between a lamp in chief, a parchment, mortarboard and winged shoe in fess and an atom in base all of the third. Attached below the shield, a brown scroll inscribed "ROCKY RIVER" in Silver letters.
Brown and orange are the school colors. Brown conveys the ambition and desire that the cadets demonstrate in academics, athletics and community activities. Orange signifies the pride and loyalty that the cadets show for their school and country. The crossed bars (saltire) represent the school's support by encouraging each cadet to succeed in all endeavors. The raven is the school's mascot and reflects the intelligence and courageous strengths of the cadets. The lamp, parchment scroll, and mortar board symbolize knowledge and wisdom. The winged shoe pertains to athletics and sportsmanship. The atomic symbol indicates progress through technology and science.
The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 29 March 2012.
