Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
A disc 3 1/2 inch (8.89 cm) in diameter overall consisting of an inner lilac (purple) disc displaying  on the left a white dolphin arched and encircling with nose downward, on the right a black dolphin arched and encircling with nose upward, between a clock tower displaying eight o'clock all white with a gold (yellow) torch surmounted at top, encircled by a black designation band  edged with a 1/8 inch ( .32 cm) black border inscribed "ANA DELIA FLORES SANTANA VOCATIONAL HS" at top and "CARIDURO BATTALION" at bottom all in white letters.

Symbolism
Black, lilac, white and gold are the school colors.  Black represents determination, a virtue the cadets possess to accomplish their personal as well as academic endeavors.  Lilac (purple) symbolizes loyalty an attribute the cadets have for their country and for each other.  White alludes to maturity a characteristic the cadets reflect in their respectful manners and decisions.  Gold signifies honor a quality they uphold every day.  The black and white dolphins (the school's mascot) represent the city of Fajardo and are symbolic of the city and school's cultural diversity, equality and spirit.  The circular motion of the dolphins is symbolic of the infinite pursuit of the torch of knowledge.  The gold torch stands for knowledge.  The white circular dome clock tower refers to the school's architecture and the clock hands point to 8:00 a.m. portrays the start of class and daily learning.

A gold colored metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height overall, consisting of a shield blazoned:  "Per fess wavy Argent and Purpure, in chief a dolphin naiant embowed facing sinister Sable, in base a dolphin naiant embowed facing sinister of the first."  Attached below the shield, a Black scroll inscribed "CARIDURO AUF" in Gold letters.

The black and white dolphins (the school's mascot) represent the City of Fajardo and are symbolic of the city and school's cultural diversity, equality and spirit.  The forward motion of the dolphins breaking through the rough waves is representative of the school's full motto of "CARIDURO AUF", is a combination of a Spanish word ("Coriduro") and a German word ("Auf") which translates to English as "No storm too strong! Hard nose all the way!"
