On a blue background in the shape of the state of Nevada 4 7/8 inches (12.38 cm) in height by 3 inches (7.62 cm) in width overall, a gray wolf head, head snarling bendwise, detailed black, teeth white, eye pupil, tongue and lips red, below a yellow arched scroll inscribed "BATTTLE BORN" in black letters all within a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) blue outer border and 1/16 inch (.16 cm) white inner border.
The snarling wolf is symbolic of the cadets' aggressive approach to involvement in school, community and country.
The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally authorized 6 April 1956. It was amend to include a manufacturing drawing, change the description and add a symbolism on 7 April 2000. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10S-156)
