Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a white vertical rectangle arched convexly at top and bottom with sides angled to vertical midline a red bear's head affront with black nose, mouth, and eyes and white teeth between the inscription "NORTHSIDE" arcing above and "GRIZZLES" arcing below in red letters.  The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height by 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width.

Symbolism
Red and white are the school colors.  The grizzly bear is the school's mascot and reflects the strength and determination of the cadets.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was authorized 7 June 1995. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-397)

Description/Blazon
 A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned:  Argent, a bear's head caboshed Gules.  Attached below the shield a silver scroll inscribed "NORTHSIDE HIGH SCHOOL" in red letters.

Symbolism
