On a white rectangle embroidered item rounded at top edged with a 1/16 inch (.16 cm) narrow black border, consisting of a silver gray horizontal rectangle in the shape of an open book, on the left a white page displaying a red stylized lion's head detailed black facing left, mouth, eye and ear of the filled, on the right a red page displaying a white stylized lion's head detailed black facing right, mouth, eye and ear of the filled. All within a red designation band rounded at top edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border inscribed WACO" in white letters. The overall dimensions are 3 inches (7.62 cm) in width and 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in height.
Red, gray and white are the school colors. The color red represents the courage, zeal, liberty and patriotism that the cadet's show for their school and country. Gray is symbolic of the cadet's discretion, humility and maturity. Silver pertains to the courage to act responsibly and possess uncompromising integrity. The lion is the school's mascot and is indicative of bravery, strength, ferocity and valor. The open book is associated with knowledge and academics. The overall shape with the arch bearing the name "WACO" symbolizes the bridging of the three former high schools into one. The new school was named Waco High School.
