A silver colored metal and enamel device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height overall, consisting of a shield blazoned: "Per fess Argent and Azure, a pair of scales surmounted by a torch Argent (Silver Gray), throughout enflamed Gules, bearing at the base of the torch, a mullet of seven of the second." Crest: "From a wreath Argent and Azure, a peace pipe and tomahawk blade downward, in saltire Argent (Silver Gray)." Attached below the shield a Blue tri-parted scroll the ends entwined in the base of the laurel branches and inscribed "H", "GORDON CENTRAL" and "S" in Silver letters.
Royal blue, white, and gray are the school colors. Blue represents loyalty, an attribute the cadets have for their country and for each other. White signifies maturity; a trait the cadets show in their civil manners and decisions. Gray (silver) alludes to humility; a quality they uphold and honor every day. The torch of learning, as a scale, alludes to justice and equality and with the school's monogram "GC" forming the flame. The seven pointed star and the leaves at each side of the shield implies the Seal of the Cherokee Nation commemorating the great Cherokee Nation that originally inhabited the State of Georgia. The crest with the torse of white and blue (the school colors) along with gray (silver) crossed peace pipe and tomahawk; symbolizing war and peace. The school's motto is "Pride in the Tribe".
The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 10 May 2012.
