Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a shield 2 5/8 inches (6.67 cm) in width a 3 1/4 inches (8.26 cm) in height, quartered one and four yellow and two and three of alternate stripe of yellow and blue; blue letter T throughout inscribed on the cross bar "TOLEDO" in yellow letters and the inner edges border with white and surmounted by a white laurel wreath and white scroll behind a yellow flaming torch.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally authorized 11 October 1951.  It was amended to add subdued colors and metric dimensions and update the description and symbolism of the design on 8 January 1990.  (TIOH Drawing Number A-10S-55)




Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a blue horizontal oval within a gold border surmounted by two crossed gold ICBM Missiles forming an X" the nose and tail fins extending beyond the oval, the base section blue; flanking the missiles in the horizontal center the letters "U" on one side and "T" on the other in white capitals. Attached above the oval between the noses of the each missile a gold scroll inscribed "TO THE FUTURE" in black letters.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 18 July 1062.
