Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
 On a white disc 3 1/4 inches (8.26 cm) edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) blue border, a blue tiger paw between the inscription "LOWNDES" arched above and "COUNTY" below in blue letters.

Symbolism
Navy blue and white are the school colors.  The tiger paw imprint suggests the mascot of the school.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia authorized on 2 November 1995 was cancelled.  The new shoulder sleeve insignia was authorized 18 December 1995.  (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-419)

Description/Blazon
On a Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86cm) in height overall consisting of a background black above and blue below, displaying a silver lighthouse issuing from base, detailed blue, between two orange tigers detailed silver a mirror image of each other, standing on right hind leg, reaching with their left paws toward a large blue star surmounting a circular burst of silver rays.  All above a blue scroll between the tigers' left hind paws and inscribed "TIGERS" in silver letters.

Symbolism
Navy blue and white are the school colors.  Blue is symbolic of the fortitude of the cadets as future leaders in the school and the community, white signifies the integrity to succeed in all endeavors.  The burst upon the rays symbolizes the morning star arising.  The lighthouse denotes guidance. The Tiger is the school's mascot and reflects the pride, honor and loyalty of the cadets' military training.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 28 December 2012.
