Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a gold vertical rectangle arched convexly at top and bottom and edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) green border, a green Cavalier bust, detailed gold, issuant from two green swords in saltire.  Attached above the rectangle, a white scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) green border inscribed "NORTH ROWAN" in green letters.  Attached below the rectangle, a white scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) green border inscribed "CAVALIERS" in green letters between two green stars.  The overall dimensions are 3 inches (7.62 cm) in height and 3 inches (7.62 cm) in width.

Symbolism
Kelly green and gold are the school colors. White is symbolic of the honor to be a cadet in the Cavalier Battalion and green denotes the positive attitude of every cadet. The crossed swords denote teamwork and the Cavalier is a symbol of strength and spirit. The stars represent the two high schools that were consolidated to into North Rowan High School.

Description/Blazon
A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Quarterly, Vert and Argent, between a polestar throughout Or, (Gold) in the first quarter an atomic symbol, in the second quarter a torch, in the third quarter an open book and in the fourth quarter a winged foot all Or, center above the shield, issuant from two swords in saltire, point upwards, a Cavalier's bust Or.  All encircled by a Green designation band  bearing two stars on either side between inscription "NORTH ROWAN HIGH SCHOOL" at top and "SPENCER N.C." at bottom all in Gold letters.  

Symbolism
Kelly green and gold are the school colors. The Cavalier is the school's mascot and reflects the strength and spirit of the cadets. The torch and atomic symbol represent the school's academic curriculum, the winged foot signifies the active athletic program, and the crossed swords denote teamwork and camaraderie. The polestar is taken from the school's coat of arms and signifies the high aim of the Cavalier Battalion. The stars represent the two high schools that were consolidated into North Rowan High School.
