A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall, consisting of a shield blazoned: Or, on a pale Sable between, an open book Argent (Silver gray) garnished of the second, and a winged foot Sable, a torch enflamed Argent. Attached above the shield, are the head and shoulders of a black bear with arms encircling the shield and the claws resting on each side. Attached below the shield, a Black scroll inscribed "EXCELLENCE THROUGH TRAINING" in Silver letters.
Black, gold and silver are the school's colors. Black symbolizes dignity and determination. Gold is associated with the excellence, honor and intellect of the cadets. Silver is indicative of the cadets' positive can-do attitude. The school's mascot is the Black Bear and embodies strength and ferocity. The torch represents knowledge, the winged foot refers to athletics; the open book symbolizes intelligence and education.
