Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
 On a Burgundy vertical rectangle arched convexly at top and bottom and edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Gold border blazoned:  Sanguine a Spartan helmet affront Or, details, face and eye slots Sable, surmounting two spears crossed in saltire points to chief of the second. Attached above the rectangle, a Burgundy scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Gold border inscribed "SPARTAN" in Gold letters.  Attached below the rectangle, a Burgundy scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Gold border inscribed "BATTALION" in Gold letters.  The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 3/8 inches (6.03 cm) in width.

Symbolism
Burgundy and gold are the school colors.  Burgundy is symbolic of the courage of cadets as leaders in the school and the community.  Gold signifies the nobleness, goodwill and determination to succeed in all endeavors.  The Spartan is the school's mascot and reflects the culture, pride, honor and loyalty of the cadet's military training.

On a Gold color metal and enameled device 1 1/8 inches (2.86cm) in width overall consisting of a shield blazoned:  Sanguine, a Spartan shield its circumference Or indented of the first, field voided, charged with a Spartan helmet of the second, face and eye slots Sable and between two spear Gold their shafts of the third erased to the edges. Attached below the shield, a Burgundy scroll inscribed "SPARTANS" in Gold letters.
