Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
 On a shield shaped embroidered item edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Black border blazoned as follows:  Or, on a bendlet Sable overall the head of a snarling Wildcat erased Proper facing sinister of the first  with details of the second, garnished Argent,  eyes, teeth and tuffs of the ear of the last and langued Gules.  Attached above the shield, a White scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border inscribed "ST. JAMES" in Black letters.  The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 5/8 inches (6.67 cm) in width.

Symbolism
Black and gold are the school colors. Black symbolizes dignity and determination. Gold is associated with the excellence, honor and intellect of the cadets. The school's mascot is the Wildcat and represents bravery, strength and alertness. The diagonal bar alludes to protection.

Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A Gold color metal and enamel shield shaped device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in width consisting of a shield  blazoned:  Sable, a pall reversed Or, in chief a parchment scroll and a lyre and in base a torch flamant, all of the last. Supporting the shield two wildcats affront heads in train aspect Or. Attached above the shield, a Black scroll doubled and inscribed "WILDCATS" in Gold letters. Attached below the shield, a Black scroll inscribed "LEAD THE WAY" in Gold letters.
