The black claw scratches represent the school’s Wildcat mascot, suggesting the spirited achievement of cadets in both their academic studies and civic leadership.  The three claw marks further represent the grade levels of the school, 10th
through 12th, signifying how the notable accomplishments of cadets “leave their mark” for future members of the Wildcat Battalion to emulate. The lamp and eternal flame denotes academics and the pursuit of knowledge. The winged foot of Hermes symbolizes athletics as well as a boundless spirit of enthusiasm.
