Shoulder Sleeve Insignia
An oval embroidered item edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) blue border, the overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 3 1/16 inches (7.78 cm) in width, consisting of an inner blue oval surrounded by a narrow white line on a 1/16 inch (.16 cm) blue border, on which is a white whirling tornado with blue details all encircled by a white designation band inscribed "GRIMSLEY" at top and "HIGH SCHOOL" at bottom all in blue letters.
Navy blue and white are the school colors. Blue signifies the loyalty the cadets' show for their school and country. White represents the courage to act responsibly and possess uncompromising integrity. The school's mascot is a Whirlie and symbolizes fierceness, strength and swiftness.

Shoulder Loop Insignia
A silver color metal and enamel shield shaped device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height blazoned: Per pale, Argent and Azure, a tornado counterchanged. Attached below the shield, a Blue scroll inscribed "WHIRLIE"` in Silver letters.
