Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a maroon disc edged with a 1/16 inch (.16 cm) yellow border the school coat of arms outlined in yellow.  Surrounding the disc a maroon designation band edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border inscribed "FISHBURNE" at top and "MILITARY SCHOOL" at bottom in yellow letters.  The overall dimension is 3 inches (7.62 cm) in diameter.

Symbolism
Maroon and gold (yellow) are the school colors.  The school coat of arms represents the cadets' dedication to duty and civic pride.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally authorized 2 April 1960.  It was cancelled 16 April 1993 and authorized due to a new design and updated description and symbolism. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-294)




Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
 A gold colored metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inch (2.86 cm) in height consisting of a gold shield bearing five maroon vertical bands surmounted by a gold Greek warrior on a gold irregular shape.  Attached below the shield a gold scroll inscribed "SCIENTIA EST POTESTAS" in black letters.

Symbolism
 Maroon and gold are the school colors.  The shield is the shield of the school's coat of arms and reflects the cadets' dedication to duty and civic pride.

Background
 The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 16 April 1993.
