Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
A disc 3 inches (7.62 cm) in diameter overall consisting of an inner light blue disc displaying a white cougar's head, couped at the neck and detailed gray, encircled by a white designation band edged with a edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) light blue border inscribed "SOUTH BRUNSWICK" at the top and "HIGH SCHOOL" at bottom all in light blue letters.

Symbolism
 Carolina blue and white are the school colors. Blue reflects color of the sky, sincerity and truth. White represents maturity and faith. The cougar is the school's mascot.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was authorized 17 January 1974. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-1037)

Description/Blazon
On a Silver metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Per quartered Celeste and Argent, a cross nowy of a lozenge Argent (Silver Gray), bearing a demi-cougar passant reguardant of the first with one leg up and looking back, between in the first quarter, an atomic symbol; the second quarter, a balance scale; the third quarter, a lamp of knowledge and in the fourth quarter, a lighthouse upon a mount beaconed all of the third, all within a diminished Silver Gray border.  Attached to the sides and below the shield, a Black triparted scroll with dovetailed ends, inscribed "SOUTH BRUNSWICK HIGH SCHOOL." in Silver.

Symbolism
Carolina blue and white are the school colors. The Cougar is the school's mascot.  The shield is a symbol for protection and represents defending what is valued most. The atomic symbol and lighthouse reflects the rich history of the community in nuclear power and seafaring. The balance scale symbolizes the balance between school and community service. The lamp represents academic achievement and knowledge.

The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 9 November 2012.
