Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a shield shaped embroidered item edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Black border, consisting of a shield blazoned: Per pale Argent (Silver Gray) and Gules, a razorback hog courant to sinister Sable eyed, teeth, tusk and fimbriation of the first (White). Attached above the shield a Scarlet scroll edged with a 1/8 inch Black border inscribed "SCHWEINFURT" in Black letters.  The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 3 inches (7.62 cm) in width.

Symbolism
 Red, black and silver are the school colors. Silver gray represents the courage to act responsibly and possess uncompromising integrity. Red symbolizes the cadet's courage and passion for patriotism. The school's mascot is the Razorback and represents bravery, strength, tenacity and intelligence. The divided shield is indicative of military strength.

A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Per pale, lozengy (Argent and Sable) and Gules between a torteau charged with a plate bearing a razorback hog courant to sinister of the second.  Attached below the shield a Black scroll inscribed "FIRST INSIGHT READY TO FIGHT" in Silver letters.

The silver gray and black lozenges allude to the design on the Bavarian flag. Schweinfurt High School is located in the German state of Bavaria. The silver disk characterizes the area of Schweinfurt known for the manufacture of ball bearings.
