Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
 On a white vertical rectangle arched convexly at the top and bottom and edged with a 3/32 inch (0.24 cm) gold inner border and a scarlet  1/16 inch (0.16 cm) outer border, displaying a gold snarling Wildcat's head couped, erased Proper facing sinister, with black details, teeth, eyed and tuffs of the ear white and tongue red.  Attached above the rectangle is a gold scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm)  black inscribed "NORTH" in black letters.  Attached below the rectangle is a gold scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border inscribed "GASTON" in black letters. The overall dimensions are 3 1/4 inches (8.26 cm) in height and 2 3/8 inches (6.03 cm) in width.

Symbolism
Gold, black, white and red are the school's colors. Gold is associated with excellence, honor and intellect. Black symbolizes the cadet's sophistication and determination to succeed in all endeavors. White conveys truth and perfection. Red represents the cadet's courage, passion and zeal for patriotism. The school's mascot is a wildcat and embodies dauntless courage and bravery.

Description/Blazon
A gold color metal and enamel shield shaped device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height blazoned: Per pale, Argent and Sable, between a torteau charged with a pellet fimbriated Or, bearing the head of a wildcat to sinister couped and in train aspect of the last. Attached below the shield, a black scroll inscribed "WILDCATS LEAD THE WAY"` in base metal letters.
