Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
 Issuing from the base of a purple Norman four gold-color Ionic columns supporting a frieze of the same color extending across the upper part of the shield and bearing the inscription "LUX---SIT" in gold-color letters; on a purple arched band resting on top edged of the shield the inscription "U of  W" in gold-color letters.  The insignia is 3 3/4 inches (9.53 cm) in height overall.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was authorized 1 November 1955.




Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A purple shield, 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height, of gold base metal, charged with four gold columns and in the chief a gold star of five points emitting wavy rays to left and right.   Above the shield on a wreath alternately purple and gold the head and neck of a husky (dog) in three-quarter view, all above a gold motto scroll bearing in purple enamel the words "STAND TALL".  

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 20 August 1962.
