Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On an orange vertical rectangle embroidered item rounded at the ends and edged with a 1/16 inch (0.16 cm) blue border. Displaying a stylized orange yellow jacket detailed blue with its head and wings over lapping on an orange designation band edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) blue border inscribed  "VERNON" at top and "HIGH SCHOOL" at bottom all in blue letters. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width. 

Symbolism
Blue and orange are the school colors. Blue signifies the loyalty that the cadets show for their school and country. Orange symbolizes the ambition, endurance and strength of the cadets. The school's motto is "YELLOW JACKET PRIDE." The stylized yellow jacket represents courage, perseverance and efficiency.

Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
 A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned:  Tenne, a torch flamant Argent, between a winged shoe and a lyre of the second; a chief embattled Azure. Attached around the bottom and sides of the shield, a blue triparted scroll inscribed "YELLOW JACKET PRIDE"` in Silver letters.

The torch symbolizes knowledge, while the winged shoe represents athletics and the lyre refers to music and art. The embattlement pertains to strength and support. The school's motto is "YELLOW JACKET PRIDE."
