Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
A dark green circular insignia edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) orange border, the overall diameter 4 inches (10.16 cm), consisting of an inner dark green disc edged with a 1/16 inch (.16 cm) orange border on which is an orange rattlesnake outlined and detailed green.  Inscribed on the encircling band the letters "FLORIDA A & M" at the top and "UNIVERSITY" at the bottom in orange letters 3/8 inch (.95 cm) in height. 

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally authorized 5 December 1979.  It was amended to add metric measurements and subdued colors, and update the description and symbolism on 13 May 1993.  (TIOH Drawing Number A-10S-113)




Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A gold colored metal and enamel insignia 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall, consisting of a green shield charged with a gold colored rattlesnake coiled to strike, all  between two gold scrolls, the one above the shield inscribed "FLORIDA," and the one below inscribed "A&M UNIVERSITY,"  all in green letters.

Background
 The shoulder loop insignia was originally authorized 5 February 1957.   It was amended to add metric measurements and chip numbers and update the description and symbolism on 27 May 1993.
