Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of shield blazoned: Party per chevron reversed Sable and Or, in chief a lion rampant and in base two thistles all counterchanged; on a canton of the first a hand of the second; attached below the shield, a Black scroll inscribed "SPERANDUM EST" in Gold letters, the school's Latin motto which translates to "We Must Hope" in English.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was approved on 10 October 1950.
