On a rectangle arced convexly at top and bottom with white bend sinister on maroon ground, and edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border, a black top hat banded white surmounted on the brim by black cane bendwise sinister. Attached above the rectangle, a black arced scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border inscribed "FARRINGTON" in yellow letters. Attached below the rectangle, a black arced scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (. 32 cm) yellow border inscribed "GOVERNORS" in yellow letters. The overall dimensions being 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width.
Maroon and white are the school colors. The top hat and cane are symbols of the school and reflect the school nickname, "Governors".
The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally authorized 30 June 1950. It was cancelled due to the new design and description and symbolism on 25 August 1989. The SSI was amended on 25 June 1993 to add yellow borders and letters and black scrolls to the design. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-150)
