Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
A circular insignia 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in diameter overall, consisting of an inner yellow disc edged with a 1/16 inch (.16 cm) dark green border. displaying a green Hawk's head couped at shoulders, facing sinister, beaked yellow with dark green tip and eyed white with green details, the upper portion of the Hawk's head and its beak plus the lower left portion of the neck all overlapping on a white designation band edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) dark green border inscribed "VIERA" at top and "HAWKS" at bottom all in dark green letters.

Symbolism
Gold and green are the school colors.  Gold signifies excellence and honor. Green represents the cadet's ambition, determination and skill.  The Hawk is the school's mascot which reflects the strength and spirit of the cadet's as they advance in military training.

Description/Blazon
On a Gold color metal and enameled device 1 1/8 inches (2.86cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned:  Per chevron reversed Or and Vert, in chief a mullet Argent, in base two hawks addorsed of the first, between a book of knowledge open face of the last. Attached above the shield, a Black scroll inscribed "HAWKS" in Gold letters. Attached below the shield, a Green scroll inscribed "VIERA HIGH SCHOOL" in Gold letters.
