On a Gold color metal and enameled device 1 1/8 inches (2.86cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Per chevron reversed Or and Vert, in chief a mullet Argent, in base two hawks addorsed of the first, between a book of knowledge open face of the last. Attached above the shield, a Black scroll inscribed "HAWKS" in Gold letters. Attached below the shield, a Green scroll inscribed "VIERA HIGH SCHOOL" in Gold letters.
Gold and green are the school colors. Gold signifies excellence and honor. Green represents the cadet's ambition, determination and skill. The Hawk is the school's mascot which reflects the strength and spirit of the cadets as they advance in military training. The star above the open book of knowledge is symbolic of the bright future of the cadets through excellence in academic endeavors.
The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 26 April 2013.
