Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On an ultramarine blue shield with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) white border, a yellow lion's head garnished white and detailed gold brown: attached above the shield an ultramarine blue scroll with a 1/8 inch
(.32 cm) white border inscribed "HOWARD" in white letters 5/16 inch (.79  cm) in height; the overall dimensions of the insignia 3 1/2  inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width.

Symbolism
The lion is the school's mascot and blue and white are the school colors.   

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was authorized 6 April 1987. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-45)
